Our apple and cinnamon infusions and teas
Apple brings fruitiness and a touch of brightness; cinnamon adds warmth and depth. Around this pairing, each blend has its own character: some lean towards the bakery, others towards spice or pure fruit.
Apple cinnamon Rooibos: a caffeine-free treat
The Roasted Apple Cinnamon Rooibos recalls a tarte tatin fresh from the oven: golden apple, cinnamon, and the gentle woody sweetness of rooibos. For something more festive, the organic Christmas Rooibos brings in orange peel, cardamom and clove. Come autumn, Enchanted Night weaves this duo with pumpkin, pomegranate and walnut for a soft, comforting cup. More ideas await among our indulgent herbal infusions.
Fruit herbal infusions: a moment of pure indulgence
The Apple Cake herbal infusion is the most pastry-like of the range: melting apple, quince, orange peel and vanilla. On the organic apple cinnamon side, Winter Warmth organic adds mandarin for a bright, aromatic cup. The organic Herbs, Spices & Flowers herbal infusion pairs these with ginger, chamomile and rose petals.
Green teas and Pu-erh, for those who want a little caffeine
The Céline Cookie green tea pairs a Sencha with apple, cinnamon bark, ginger and vanilla, with notes of warm biscuit. The organic Vanilla Cinnamon green tea is gentler, with pieces of apple and orange peel. The organic Cinnamon Orange Pu-erh, deeper and earthier, brings together apple, cardamom and clove.
How to choose your apple cinnamon infusion?
Caffeine-free or not?
The Rooibos and herbal infusions in this selection are naturally caffeine-free: you can enjoy them at any time of day, including in the evening. The green teas and Pu-erh do contain caffeine, so save those for the morning or afternoon.
Pastry-like, spiced, or fruity?
For a dessert-like taste, go for the Roasted Apple Cinnamon Rooibos or the Apple Cake herbal infusion. For something spicier, the Christmas Rooibos or the Orange Cinnamon Pu-erh are a great choice, close in character to our Christmas teas. For more fruit and freshness, try the Winter Softness herbal infusion with its warm notes of mandarin.
An organic apple cinnamon infusion?
Yes: the Christmas Rooibos, Winter Softness, the Herbs, Spices & Flowers herbal infusion, the Vanilla Cinnamon green tea and the Orange Cinnamon Pu-erh are all organic, made from organically grown ingredients. Each product page lists its certification status and full ingredient details. All are sold loose-leaf, with real fruit pieces you can see right in the bag.
How to Prepare an Apple Cinnamon Infusion?
Dosage, Temperature and Steeping Time
Preparation is straightforward. For a rooibos or herbal infusion, use 15 to 20 g per litre, about two teaspoons per large cup. Pour boiling water over the blend and steep for 7 to 10 minutes, covered: fruit pieces need time to fully release their flavour. For an apple and cinnamon green tea, the water should be cooler, around 80 °C, and the steeping time shorter, 2 to 3 minutes.
A Homemade Infusion with Fresh Fruit
For a fruitier homemade infusion, slice an apple thinly, keeping the skin on, and let it simmer for a few minutes in a saucepan of water with a cinnamon stick. The cooked apple brings a natural sweetness, with no added sugar. Remove from the heat, add your tea or herbal blend, and leave to steep. A squeeze of lemon juice, a spoonful of honey, or a dash of milk can transform the drink entirely.
When to Drink It?
This is the drink for coming in from an autumn walk, for afternoon snacks, and for evenings by the fire. It makes a lovely alternative to an afternoon coffee, and pairs beautifully with a tart, a crumble, or a few biscuits. In summer, it's just as good served cold, with a few slices of apple.
