Christmas Rooibos: an organic infusion with festive aromas
When December arrives, we all crave warmth and comfort. We created this organic Christmas rooibos to capture the spirit of the holidays: the velvety roundness of South African rooibos married with the delicious aromas of gingerbread, candied orange, and cinnamon. From the first sip, you feel that spicy sweetness that warms, followed by fruity notes and a caramelized trail that lingers pleasantly on the palate.
At Thés & Traditions, we crafted this infusion to become your favorite winter ritual, those moments when time seems to stand still.
What does our Christmas rooibos contain?
Our winter blend combines carefully selected organic ingredients: natural rooibos from South Africa, apple pieces, sweet orange peels, cinnamon sticks, cloves, rose petals, cardamom, as well as natural orange and cinnamon flavors.
Cinnamon brings that sweet warmth reminiscent of Christmas cookies fresh from the oven. Orange peels offer a fruity freshness that balances the spices. Cloves structure the whole with their powerful note, while rose petals add an unexpected floral delicacy.
This blend of organic ingredients creates a true aromatic symphony, faithful to Christmas traditions. Each ingredient is measured to preserve the balance between character and smoothness.
What does Christmas rooibos taste like?
As soon as you open the bag, the scent of spices transports you. In the cup, this rooibos infusion unfolds in three stages: a spicy opening that instantly warms, a fruity and indulgent heart, then a finish where the sweetness of cinnamon lingers tenderly.
These flavors evoke artisanal gingerbread and oranges studded with cloves that fill kitchens with their fragrance in December. One of our customers shared with us: "Every cup takes me back to the Christmases of my childhood, when my grandmother prepared her bredele." This is exactly what we were looking for: a sensory journey that awakens happy memories.
How to prepare your Christmas rooibos?
To release its full aromatic richness, steep 2 grams of this blend in 200 ml of boiling water (100°C) for 7 to 10 minutes. Rooibos has the advantage of never becoming bitter: you can extend the infusion according to the intensity you're looking for.
Here is our method for a perfect cup:
- Bring the water to a boil.
- Place the blend in a tea ball or directly in your teapot.
- Steep for 7 to 10 minutes.
- Enjoy plain or with a spoonful of honey for extra indulgence.
This caffeine-free infusion also transforms into a delicious rooibos latte: add frothy almond milk and a touch of maple syrup. You get a velvety and comforting drink, perfect for cozy evenings under a blanket with a good book.
For delicious pairings: it pairs wonderfully with cinnamon shortbread, a poached pear tart, or even fresh goat cheese with honey. These combinations create harmonies where each flavor is enhanced.
When to enjoy it?
Caffeine-free, this Christmas rooibos is especially enjoyed in the late afternoon and evening. It accompanies quiet moments, conversations that stretch around the table, cozy times when we take the time to savor.
