At a glance: an exotic papaya Oolong with hints of peach, goji berry and fig. Brew at 80°C for 2 to 4 minutes, 12 to 15 g/L. Best enjoyed in the morning or throughout the day.

Oolong Montagne du Tibet is a fruity creation by Thés & Traditions. Built on an oolong tea base, this generous blend weaves together candied papaya, juicy peach, goji berries and fig. A few cornflower and marigold petals add vivid colour to the cup.

This semi-oxidised tea holds a unique place between green and black tea. Its hand-rolled leaves unfurl gradually during brewing, allowing the papaya and peach to fully express themselves. Explore our full selection of semi-fermented oolongs and continue discovering this fascinating family of teas.

The flavour profile of Oolong Montagne du Tibet

From the very first sip, this blend reveals an immediate, rounded fruitiness. Papaya brings a honeyed, almost caramel-like sweetness that wraps generously around the palate. Peach, brighter and livelier, extends that sensation with the juicy freshness of ripe fruit.

At the heart of the cup, goji berries introduce a delicately tangy note, almost like grenadine, that beautifully balances the papaya's sweetness. Fig glides quietly into the background, adding a candied, almost winey depth to the overall aromatic profile.

Beneath it all, the semi-oxidised base reveals its subtle character: soft floral notes from the cornflower and marigold, a gently woody finish, and a signature warmth reminiscent of fresh chestnut. The liqueur is a beautiful luminous gold, flecked with the bright colours of the petals.

Those who love vibrant, sun-drenched flavours will appreciate its indulgent character without any heaviness. For a change of pace, try our Hawaipur mango papaya black tea or our Oasis Tropicale pomegranate mango herbal infusion, which share the same fruity, exotic spirit.

How to brew Oolong Montagne du Tibet

Brewing an oolong tea calls for a little care to bring out its full aromatic range. Here are our recommended parameters for this fruity blend:

  • Water temperature: 80°C (bring to a boil, then leave to cool for 2 minutes)
  • Steeping time: 2 to 4 minutes, depending on desired strength
  • Dosage: 12 to 15 g per litre, roughly 2 teaspoons for a 50 cl teapot
  • Water: low-mineral, filtered if possible

Pour the hot water over the leaves placed in a wide-mesh filter or an infuser teapot. The rolled leaves will slowly open up, releasing the fruit pieces and petals. Two minutes yields a soft, fruity cup, while four minutes deepens the candied notes and adds complexity.

One of the pleasures of this style of tea: the leaves hold up beautifully to multiple infusions. Feel free to re-steep up to three times, adding a little extra time with each round. Oolong tea: properties and profile

As a semi-oxidised tea, Oolong naturally contains polyphenols (catechins and theaflavins). According to the EFSA, tea polyphenols contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress when consumed as part of a balanced diet.

Its moderate caffeine content makes it a pleasant choice for the morning or early afternoon. The ANSES notes that moderate consumption of caffeinated beverages fits comfortably within the daily intake of a healthy adult.

Julien Huot, founder of Thés & Traditions, personally selects each tea for its aromatic balance and the quality of the harvest. Try our Oolong Montagne du Tibet to start the day on a bright, fruity note.

Storage

Keep this blend in its original tin or an airtight container, away from light, moisture and strong odours. The candied fruits and petals will retain their full aromatic freshness for 18 to 24 months after opening.
