Organic Iced Lemon Orange Rooibos: the perfect cold rooibos recipe
Our organic Iced Lemon Orange Rooibos is specially crafted to be enjoyed cold, as a refreshing iced infusion. A blend of red rooibos and green rooibos, flavoured with orange peel, lemon, bergamot, grapefruit and cornflower petals, it delivers a natural burst of citrus. Caffeine-free and theine-free, it's the perfect summer drink, a great alcohol-free aperitif, and an ideal companion for warm days. The star of rooibos cold brew and homemade iced tea.
Ingredients: an organic citrus blend
A full citrus recipe: natural rooibos, lemongrass, orange peel (6%), natural orange flavour, green rooibos, natural lemon flavour, natural grapefruit flavour, cornflower petals, natural bergamot flavour. All organic. The dual red and green rooibos base brings a unique roundness (fermented red + unfermented green = a full spectrum of antioxidants). The four citrus flavours (orange, lemon, grapefruit, bergamot) create a truly refreshing blend. Lemongrass rounds things out with its bright, herbal note.

Why is rooibos perfect for iced tea?
Cold brew rooibos is growing in popularity, and for good reason:
- Caffeine-free: no stimulants, pure hydration
- No bitter tannins: no bitterness even with a long steep
- Rich in antioxidants: aspalathin and nothofagin remain active even when cold
- Smooth and thirst-quenching: a healthy alternative to store-bought sodas
- Calorie-free: no added sugar (unless you prefer it that way)
Our Iced Lemon Orange Rooibos was specifically developed for cold brewing, with a citrus concentration carefully balanced to shine when steeped cold.
The benefits of lemon orange rooibos
This blend brings together ingredients with well-established qualities:
- Red and green rooibos (Aspalathus linearis): a double dose of antioxidants (sources: EMA herbal monograph Aspalathus linearis; ANSES).
- Lemongrass: traditionally used for digestive comfort and its soothing effect.
- Orange peel: a natural source of vitamin C and bioflavonoids.
- Bergamot: a floral Italian citrus aroma (Citrus bergamia).
- Grapefruit: an invigorating citrus rich in vitamin C.
- Cornflower petals: decorative, with a long tradition in herbal medicine for soothing tired eyes.
Caffeine-free and theine-free, this is the perfect summer infusion for staying hydrated without any stimulants.
Flavour profile: fresh citrus, smooth and thirst-quenching
This infusion offers a beautiful amber colour with golden-orange highlights. On the nose, an intense citrus bouquet: orange leads the way, followed by bright lemon and floral bergamot, all resting on a herbal lemongrass backdrop. On the palate, the opening is lively thanks to the citrus freshness, giving way to the smooth roundness of the rooibos and a delicate grapefruit finish. Particularly expressive when served cold, where the aromas bloom without any sharpness.

How to prepare iced rooibos
Two methods to choose from, depending on how much time you have:
- Hot brew then chill: 15 g per litre of boiling water, steep for 7 to 10 minutes, leave to cool at room temperature then refrigerate. Serve over ice.
- Cold brew: 10 g per litre of cold water, steep for 6 to 8 hours in the refrigerator (overnight works perfectly). Strain and serve. A gentler method, with more subtle aromas.
You can also prepare it hot for cooler autumn days: boiling water at 100°C, steep for 7 to 10 minutes.
Temperature and steeping time
Hot: 100°C, 7 to 10 minutes. Cold: cold water, 6 to 8 hours in the refrigerator. Rooibos never turns bitter, no matter how long it steeps.
How many cups?
With 100 g, you get approximately 5 large 1-litre pitchers (great for the whole family) or around 30 classic cups.
Recipes: summer pitcher, mocktail, punch
Iced lemon orange rooibos is the perfect base for a variety of summer recipes:

- Alcohol-free punch: iced rooibos + fresh orange juice + lemon juice + maple syrup + ice

Frequently asked questions about iced lemon orange rooibos
Does it have to be served cold?
Not at all, though cold is its finest expression. This blend is equally delicious hot, especially on cool autumn days or in winter when you want a comforting cup rich in vitamin C to support your natural defences.
What's the difference from a regular cold infusion?
Our blend contains a concentration of citrus (orange, lemon, bergamot, grapefruit) specifically calibrated to reveal its full aroma when cold brewed. A standard blend not designed for cold brewing will yield a noticeably flatter taste.
Does this rooibos contain theine?
No, neither red nor green rooibos contains theine. Caffeine-free and tannin-free. Perfect for staying hydrated throughout the day and into the evening.
Is it suitable for children?
Absolutely. Caffeine-free and naturally flavoured with citrus, it's an excellent alternative to store-bought juices and sodas for children.
How long for a cold brew?
6 to 8 hours in the refrigerator is ideal. You can also prepare it in the evening and enjoy it the next morning and throughout the day.
Can you add sweetener?
That's entirely up to you. Naturally sweetened by the rooibos and citrus aromas, it doesn't need any sugar. For those who prefer it sweeter, a little honey or agave syrup works beautifully.
How many cups per bag?
Around 5 one-litre pitchers (ideal for families) or 30 cups. Exceptional value for summer.
Order your organic iced lemon orange rooibos and enjoy your favourite iced infusion all summer long. A natural, thirst-quenching, caffeine-free drink, and a perfect alternative to sodas for staying happily hydrated.
