At a glance: a ginseng ginger green tea built on a Sencha base, lifted with ginseng root, ginger, lemongrass and cornflower petals. Brew at 80°C for 2-3 min, 12-15 g/L. Best enjoyed in the morning or through the day.

This invigorating blend brings together the fresh, vegetal character of a delicate Sencha with the warming spice of ginger and the quiet depth of ginseng root. A blend made for mornings that call for a little lift, and for days when you want to keep your pace without losing your ease.

Lemongrass adds a bright, zesty note, cornflower petals bring a touch of poetry, and a hint of honey aroma rounds out the whole cup. Browse our selection of scented green teas to keep exploring.

The flavour profile of ginseng ginger green tea

The first sip is clean and vegetal, true to Sencha: freshly cut grass, a faint briny hint, the gentle sweetness of young-picked Camellia sinensis. This is the bright, slightly buttery green foundation on which the whole blend unfolds.

Then comes the spiced heart. The ginger, in generous pieces, releases a round, lively warmth with a gentle kick, never overpowering. It plays beautifully against the ginseng root, which is more understated but clearly present, lending a woody depth and a refined, mild bitterness — the hallmark of this root, long prized for its revitalising character.

In the background, lemongrass unfolds its citrusy, almost herbaceous freshness, drawing out that sense of vitality. The cornflower petals, blue as a summer sky, contribute more to the eye than the palate — an elegant signature in the cup. The natural honey aroma wraps everything in a golden softness, gently balancing the ginger's warmth.

The finish is long, warm and enlivening. This is a tea that leaves a lingering sensation of spiced freshness, like a breath of cool air after an early morning walk. If you prefer something more delicate, you might also enjoy our Secret de Beauté green tea.

How to brew ginseng ginger green tea

Like any green tea, this blend rewards a little care: water at the right temperature, a controlled steep, and a generous measure. That's what allows the ginseng root, ginger and Sencha to give their best.

Which water? Use a soft, low-mineral water, ideally filtered. Hard water mutes the vegetal finesse of the Sencha and sharpens the bitterness of the ginseng.

Which temperature? 80°C, no hotter. Beyond that, the green tea turns astringent and the ginseng loses its elegance. If you don't have a temperature-controlled kettle, bring the water to a boil and let it rest for 2 to 3 minutes before pouring.

How much, and for how long? Use 12 to 15 grams per litre, roughly a heaped tablespoon for a large cup. Steep for 2 to 3 minutes depending on the strength you prefer: 2 minutes for something soft and fresh, 3 minutes for a more pronounced expression of ginger and ginseng root.

For an iced version in summer, double the quantity and cold-brew in the fridge for 6 to 8 hours. The lemongrass and ginger come through with a surprising, refreshing clarity. When to drink green tea offers some guidance on the best moments to enjoy it.

Storage

Keep this blend in its original airtight tin, away from light, moisture and strong odours. Ginger and lemongrass are both rich in essential oils and particularly sensitive to environmental changes. Stored with care, this tea holds its full aromatic character for 18 to 24 months. Packed by hand in our workshop.

Frequently asked questions

What are the benefits of ginseng and ginger?
Ginseng and ginger are two plants long appreciated in traditional herbalism for their warming, revitalising character. Ginseng is a popular adaptogenic root, while ginger brings its lively, spiced warmth. This tea celebrates both as a sensory pleasure, first and foremost a cup to be savoured.

How do you use ginseng and ginger together?
In this infusion, both ingredients are already measured and balanced on a Sencha base. Simply brew at 80°C for 2 to 3 minutes to enjoy their harmonious combination. It's the easiest way to taste them side by side.

What's the difference between ginseng and ginger?
They are two distinct plants. Ginseng (Panax ginseng) is a root with a woody, slightly bitter flavour, traditionally used across Asia. Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is a rhizome with a warming, peppery bite. Together, they create a unique aromatic profile: rooty, spiced and grounding.

Can ginseng and ginger help with weight loss?
