At a glance: an organic Marrakech mint green tea made with Gunpowder and mint. Brew at 70-80°C for 2-3 min, 12-15 g/L. Fresh, lively and aromatic, delicious hot or iced.
Our Marrakech Mint Green Tea captures the spirit of traditional mint tea: a Gunpowder-style green tea, whole mint leaves, and a hint of peppermint to brighten every cup. The result is an organic Moroccan green tea, fresh and generous, perfectly suited to any moment of the day.
Crafted with restraint, this blend relies on just three ingredients, all organically grown. A pared-back recipe, true to the tradition of Moroccan tea, designed to deliver genuine mint flavour without layers of added aroma. Explore our selection of mint green teas to bring that freshness into your everyday.
The moment you open the pouch, mint freshness rises immediately, carried by the vegetal, slightly smoky notes of the Gunpowder. A lively, herbaceous scent that sets the tone for an invigorating cup.
On the palate, the Gunpowder unfolds a round, gently woody base, over which the mint lays its cool, mentholated freshness. The peppermint brings a bright, almost spicy finish that extends the sensation of coolness without any harshness.
This is a balanced, aromatic tea where the vegetal character of green tea and the clarity of mint answer each other perfectly. No sugar, no unnecessary flavourings: the simplicity of a recipe that has endured through generations.
To explore more mint varieties, take a look at our peppermint green tea, with its sharper, more intensely mentholated character compared to this traditional recipe.
The method is straightforward, but water temperature makes all the difference. Gunpowder steeped in water that's too hot turns bitter; at the right temperature, it reveals its full roundness.
Brewing parameters:
This blend lends itself beautifully to cold brewing. Use 15 g per litre of cold water, steep in the fridge for 1 to 2 hours, then strain. Serve with a few fresh mint leaves for a refreshing, bitterness-free drink.
You can also prepare it the Moroccan way, in a metal teapot, pouring the tea from a height to aerate the liquor. Sweetened or plain, it becomes a ritual of sharing in its own right. Enjoy our green teas throughout the day, from breakfast to sunny afternoons.
Packaged in our workshop, this tea keeps best in its original tin or in an airtight, opaque container, away from light, moisture and heat sources. Avoid plastic containers or shelves near spices, which can quickly dull the delicate mint aromas.
Consumed within 12 to 18 months of opening, this tea retains all its mentholated freshness and the roundness of its Gunpowder base. To learn more about green tea varieties, brewing and uses, visit our green tea guide.
How do you brew mint green tea?
Use 12 to 15 g of leaves per litre of water heated to 70-80°C, and steep for 2 to 3 minutes. Water that's too hot will make the Gunpowder bitter. For an iced version, cold-brew in the fridge for 1 to 2 hours, then strain before serving with a few fresh mint leaves.
What varieties of mint green tea are there?
There are several styles: the traditional Moroccan version with Gunpowder and nana mint, more intense peppermint recipes, or gentler spearmint versions. Our house also offers our spearmint selection and a full-bodied peppermint version.
What are the benefits of green tea?
