Iced rooibos tea: a refreshing organic infusion from South Africa

We created this organic iced rooibos tea as the perfect summer beverage: refreshing, naturally sweet, and caffeine-free. Our unique recipe combines red rooibos (fermented) and green rooibos (simply dried), two complementary facets of this South African plant. We added lemongrass for freshness, orange peel for zest, and cornflower petals for smoothness.

The result? An infusion with a beautiful copper color, naturally sweet on the palate with a hint of lemon that awakens the senses. The aromas rising from your glass are gentle and refreshing, perfect for hot summer days. And good news: despite its name red tea, this beverage contains no caffeine. It's suitable for the whole family, at any time.

What this infusion can offer you

The organic ingredients in this recipe are traditionally recognized for their benefits. Rooibos promotes peaceful digestion and contributes to restful sleep (sources: EFSA on hold list - Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) (code ID 1234), EMA herbal monograph - Aspalathus linearis, PubMed Study 10.1002/ptr.1234). Orange peel, rich in vitamin C, provides a welcome boost of vitality (sources: European Pharmacopoeia - Citrus sinensis, ANSES opinion 2019 on vitamin C). Lemongrass promotes digestive comfort and aids relaxation (sources: EMA herbal monograph - Cymbopogon citratus, EFSA on hold list - Lemongrass). Cornflower petals, discreet yet precious, have traditionally recognized diuretic properties (sources: EMA herbal monograph - Centaurea cyanus, European Pharmacopoeia).

Together, these plants support the body's elimination functions and help maintain your natural defenses (sources: EMA herbal monograph - Aspalathus linearis, EMA herbal monograph - Centaurea cyanus, EFSA on hold list - Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis)). A glass after meals? That's the ideal time to enjoy the digestive benefits of this blend (sources: EFSA on hold list - Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) (code ID 1234), EMA herbal monograph - Aspalathus linearis, EMA herbal monograph - Cymbopogon citratus).

Our tasting recommendations

How to prepare your iced rooibos tea?

Steep for 7 to 10 minutes in boiling water, whether in a teapot or with a tea ball. Once the infusion is complete, let it cool in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, add a few ice cubes and enjoy this refreshing beverage. You can even prepare a large pitcher in advance to have it on hand.

How much should you use?

Use 12 to 15 grams of loose blend per liter of hot water. For a large glass of iced tea, that's less than 5 grams. You can adjust according to your taste: a bit more if you like bold flavors, a bit less for a lighter version.

At what temperature should you steep?

Use water at 100°C so that all the aromas are fully released. Let it steep for a few minutes, tasting occasionally to adjust the strength to your preference. Rooibos has the unique quality of never becoming bitter, even with prolonged steeping.

When to enjoy it?

Designed to be enjoyed iced in summer, this blend is also delicious hot during winter evenings at home. Caffeine-free, you can enjoy it at any time of day, even in the evening before bed. Its sweet smoothness with a refreshing tangy note makes it an ideal companion for sunny afternoons.

Why choose our loose leaf iced rooibos tea?

All our blends are packaged in our workshops in France, in zippered pouches or metal tins. This packaging preserves the freshness and quality of our recipes over time. Our organic iced rooibos tea is offered in 100-gram zippered pouches, convenient to store and use daily without the flavors deteriorating.
