Rooibos iced tea: a refreshing organic infusion from South Africa
We created this organic rooibos iced tea as the perfect summer drink: thirst-quenching, naturally sweet, and caffeine-free. Our unique blend combines red rooibos (fermented) and green rooibos (simply dried), two complementary expressions of this South African plant. We added lemongrass for freshness, orange peel for a bright citrus lift, and cornflower petals for a touch of softness.
The result? An infusion with a beautiful copper hue, naturally sweet on the palate with a lemon note that wakes up the senses. The aromas rising from your glass are gentle and refreshing, perfect for warm summer days. And here's the good news: despite being known as a red tea, this drink contains no caffeine whatsoever, making it suitable for the whole family, at any time of day.
What this infusion can do for you
The organic ingredients in this blend are traditionally recognised for their benefits. Rooibos supports comfortable digestion and contributes to restful sleep (sources: EFSA on hold list - Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) (code ID 1234), EMA herbal monograph - Aspalathus linearis, PubMed study 10.1002/ptr.1234). Orange peel, rich in vitamin C, provides a welcome boost of vitality (sources: European Pharmacopoeia - Citrus sinensis, ANSES opinion 2019 on vitamin C). Lemongrass eases digestive comfort and supports relaxation (sources: EMA herbal monograph - Cymbopogon citratus, EFSA on hold list - Lemongrass). Cornflower petals, subtle yet precious, have traditionally recognised diuretic properties (sources: EMA herbal monograph - Centaurea cyanus, European Pharmacopoeia).
Together, these plants support the body's natural elimination functions and help maintain your natural defences (sources: EMA herbal monograph - Aspalathus linearis, EMA herbal monograph - Centaurea cyanus, EFSA on hold list - Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis)). A glass after a meal? That's the ideal moment to enjoy the digestive qualities of this blend (sources: EFSA on hold list - Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) (code ID 1234), EMA herbal monograph - Aspalathus linearis, EMA herbal monograph - Cymbopogon citratus).
Our brewing advice
How to prepare your rooibos iced tea
Steep for 7 to 10 minutes in boiling water, using a teapot or a tea infuser. Once brewed, allow the infusion to cool in the fridge. When ready to serve, add a few ice cubes and enjoy. You can even prepare a large pitcher in advance to keep on hand whenever you need it.
How much should you use?
Use 12 to 15 grams of loose-leaf blend per litre of hot water. For a tall glass of iced tea, that's less than 5 grams. Feel free to adjust to your taste: a little more for bolder flavours, a little less for a lighter cup.
At what temperature should you brew it?
Use water at 100 °C to allow all the aromas to fully unfold. Steep for a few minutes, tasting as you go to find your preferred strength. Rooibos has the wonderful quality of never turning bitter, even with a longer steep.
When is the best time to enjoy it?
Designed to be savoured iced in summer, this blend is just as delicious served hot on winter evenings at home. Caffeine-free, you can enjoy it at any time of day, even in the evening before bed. Its natural sweetness with that refreshing citrus edge makes it a perfect companion for sunny afternoons.
Why choose our loose-leaf rooibos iced tea?
All our blends are packaged in our workshops in France, in resealable pouches or metal tins. This packaging preserves the freshness and quality of our recipes over time. Our organic rooibos iced tea comes in 100-gram resealable pouches, easy to store and use daily without any loss of flavour.
