In a nutshell: A blood orange and pomegranate herbal infusion, fruity, floral and caffeine-free. Steep for 15 to 30 minutes at 100°C, using 20 g per litre. Perfect any time of day or evening.
Inspired by a late-summer stroll through an orchard, this infusion brings together the sweet flesh of dates and figs with the bright, tangy burst of blood orange. Pomegranate adds its lively, almost sparkling notes, while a floral veil of lavender, mallow and rose petals softens the whole.
Julien Huot, founder of Thés & Traditions, blended this as a reinvented candied fruit: sensual, radiant and caffeine-free. Discover this creation among our most indulgent herbal infusions.
The aromatic profile of this pomegranate infusion
From the moment you open the bag, the fragrance unfolds with sunny, fruity top notes: candied orange peel, flashes of strawberry and a hint of aronia. The brewed liquor draws towards a deep, appetising copper-red.
On the palate, the heart reveals a honeyed roundness carried by apple, quince and grape. Date lends its caramelised, almost syrupy sweetness, while pomegranate and goji berry weave in a fine, juicy acidity.
The finish, more understated, is wrapped in delicate cardamom and a floral bouquet: elderflower, everlasting flower, cornflower and marigold. A well-balanced sensory experience, fruity without being overly sweet. Visit our herbal infusion guide to find the profile that suits you.
How to prepare this fruity herbal infusion
Use 20 g of the blend per litre of near-boiling water, roughly one heaped tablespoon for a generous 300 ml cup. Pour water at 100°C directly over the dried fruits and flowers.
Steep for between 15 and 30 minutes depending on the strength you prefer: 15 minutes for a delicate, floral cup, 30 minutes for a fuller, almost syrupy brew. Strain and enjoy as it is, or add a drizzle of honey to bring out the date.
For an iced version, cold-steep for 6 to 8 hours in the refrigerator: the result is a refreshing, wholesome drink that works beautifully as an aperitif. Enjoy this fruity infusion in any season, and for another fruity creation, try our Flamingo herbal infusion.
Benefits and serving moments
Completely caffeine-free, this infusion is a pleasure at any hour. Pomegranate, the fruit of the pomegranate tree, is traditionally valued for its wealth of polyphenols. According to the EFSA, plant polyphenols contribute to a varied and balanced diet.
The dried fruits (apple, fig, date, grape) provide a natural sweetness that makes this a wholesome alternative to sugary drinks. The ANSES highlights the value of regular fruit consumption as part of a balanced diet.
Storage
Packed in our workshop, this blend keeps best away from light, heat and humidity, in an airtight tin or container. To preserve the freshness of the flowers and the sweetness of the fruits, consume within 12 months.
