Grown in the Brahmaputra Valley, only the last two leaves of the tea plant are picked. The "Broken Orange Pekoe" grade means they are smaller and broken. The orange color refers to the Dutch royal family Nassau, the first tea importers in Europe. The valley's climate (tropical with heavy rainfall, high humidity, and extreme temperatures) gives a malty taste and unique note to these black teas. Earl Grey is made with Assam tea.
More oxidized than green teas, black teas can be kept for several years and contain more theine. Thanks to their antioxidants, their infusions are beneficial for health: cardiovascular system, blood circulation or fighting cell aging. Moreover, Assam black tea, rich in tannins, has a longer stimulating effect than coffee. Additionally, since tea leaves are not washed, choosing an organic product guarantees healthy nutrition and respect for the environment.
The preparation of black tea infusions is personal and unique. It relies on a delicate balance between properties and flavors. Three criteria go into tea preparation: method, temperature, and steeping time (depending on tea varieties and leaf cut).
One teaspoon per cup (or 13 grams per liter) preserves the complete and balanced flavors and aromas of this beverage. Three cups per day allow you to benefit from all its advantages and virtues.
Like all black teas, this product should be prepared at a temperature of 95 to 100°C, with steeping times between 3 and 5 minutes. Beyond that, the tea will tend to become astringent and bitter.
With a full-bodied taste more pronounced than Chinese black tea, organic Assam tea is best enjoyed in the morning to start the day well. A beverage with character, it can be consumed plain, with milk, or cream.
Loose organic tea is authentic. Of very high quality, the black teas from the Rembeng plantation preserve all the flavor of the leaves and their origin. Stored in airtight and opaque containers, protected from light, air, and moisture, our Assam tea will offer you bright and invigorating infusions. Its fragrance and flavor, spicy but without harshness, are more refined loose than in tea bags.
Worldwide, tea is the second most consumed beverage after water. Our wide selection of organic black teas comes from China, India, Darjeeling, or Ceylon. Flavored, with notes of fruits or spices, we offer high-quality products from organic plantations. Packaging is done in paper bags or loose. Payment on our Thés & Traditions website is completely secure. Delivery, to home or pickup points, is free for purchases over 45 euros.
