The aromatic profile of Lune Magique
The moment you open the pouch, the scent rises, bright and citrusy. Lemongrass brings its characteristic green freshness, instantly joined by sparkling notes of lemon and bergamot. An aroma that already calls you to take a sip.
In the cup, the golden liquor reveals several sensory layers. Ginger leads with a warm, almost spiced opening, never harsh. Apple and quince soften the whole with fruity sweetness, while mint weaves a quiet coolness through the background.
Whole verbena leaf, the emblematic plant of evening infusions, lends its herbal roundness and delicately lemony scent. It plays beautifully alongside mallow, tangy cranberry, and cornflower blossoms that add their azure touches to the blend.
A few drops of lime essential oil and a hint of natural grapefruit aroma complete this flavourful picture. The result: a cup that is bright, round and fruity, just as enjoyable warm as slightly cooled. If you love tangy, fresh profiles, you may also like our lemon basil herbal infusion.
How to brew Lune Magique
A great infusion comes down to four key variables: water, dose, temperature and time. Our Lune Magique herbal infusion expresses its full aromatic range when each of these is handled with a little care.
Water: choose a low-mineral water, freshly brought to a boil. Heavily calcified water can mask the delicacy of the citrus notes and the softness of the apple.
Dose: use 20 grams of blend per litre, roughly two heaped tablespoons for a medium teapot. For a single cup, one level tablespoon is plenty.
Temperature: 100°C, a full rolling boil. Unlike green teas, the herbs and roots in this blend need and welcome fully boiling water to release their aromatic compounds.
Brewing time: between 10 and 15 minutes. The longer the steep, the more the ginger's character comes forward. Those who prefer a gentler cup should stop at 10 minutes; those who love a spiced warmth can go to 15.
Cover your teapot or cup while brewing: the volatile essential oils from lemon and bergamot are preserved in the liquor this way. This infusion is also delicious served iced over ice cubes for a refreshing summer version. Storing your herbal infusion
To keep this blend at its aromatic best, store it in its original airtight tin, away from light, moisture and strong odours. A kitchen cupboard, well away from the hob, is ideal. Our herbal infusion is blended and packaged in our workshop with care.
Enjoyed within 18 months of opening, it will retain the intensity of its ginger and the vivacity of its citrus notes. Julien Huot, founder of Thés & Traditions, personally selects every herb in this blend from producers certified in organic farming.
