A tea caddy that smells of the garden in spring

The design on the Merla Cream caddy reads like a page from a naturalist's sketchbook. A robin, a song thrush and a tiny wren perch on a birch branch; nearby, nests shelter pale blue eggs, an azure butterfly drifts past, and the golden catkins of a hazel tree hang between oak leaves. The warm cream background, soft and luminous, gives the whole scene the quiet charm of aged paper. The pattern continues across the top of the lid.

Its name comes from the blackbird, that most familiar of garden birds. The caddy also comes in a soft green version: the two together, one for your morning tea and one for your afternoon cup, make a lovely gift.

Designed to keep your tea at its best

Square in shape, the caddy is made from tinplate, with a food-safe protective interior lacquer (compliant with European regulation 1935/2004) and a BPA-free decorative exterior coating. The lid fits snugly and lifts away easily, shielding the contents from air, light and moisture, which can rob tea of its aroma over time.

It holds around 150 g of dry product. The exact amount depends on what you put in it: a broken-leaf black tea or a Rooibos will pack more densely than a white tea or a floral herbal infusion, which take up considerably more space.
