The aromatic profile of the Elves' Infusion

The moment you open the bag, a bouquet of fresh fruit rises to meet you: apple leads the way, followed by a citrus trail carried by orange peel and natural lemon aroma. It is indulgent, bright and immediately inviting.

On the palate, the infusion reveals a supple structure. Green Rooibos, more vegetal and less woody than its red cousin from South Africa, provides a delicate backdrop. Whole verbena leaves add a herbaceous freshness that balances the roundness of the red fruits.

The finish belongs to the wild berries: tangy raspberry, deep blackcurrant, supported by their corresponding natural aroma. Calendula petals, scattered in golden touches, bring visual elegance and a quiet floral note that lingers through the tasting.

  • Top notes: apple, orange peel, lemon
  • Heart notes: green Rooibos, verbena, blackberry leaves
  • Base notes: raspberry, blackcurrant, passionflower

This infusion suits a mid-morning pause just as well as a quiet evening moment, with no caffeine to disrupt your rest. If you are still looking for the right blend, our guide to choosing a herbal infusion will help you find your perfect match.

How to brew the Elves' Infusion

To bring out its full fruity potential, this infusion calls for near-boiling water and a generous steeping time. The fruit pieces and whole leaves release their aromas gradually, with no risk of bitterness.

  • Temperature: 100°C (boiling water)
  • Dosage: 15 to 20 g per litre, roughly one heaped tablespoon per large cup
  • Steeping time: 7 to 10 minutes
  • Accessories: a teapot with a wide filter or a generous tea infuser, to give the apple pieces room to open up

For an iced version, double the dosage, steep as usual, then pour over ice. The result is reminiscent of a fruit-infused water, perfect for summer afternoons. A few slices of fresh lemon will sharpen the brightness even further.

This blend will hold a light second infusion if you extend the steeping time by 2 to 3 minutes. For a different floral and alpine approach, you might also enjoy our Alpine herbal infusion.

Traditional plants and their benefits

Caffeine-free, this infusion can be enjoyed at any hour without affecting sleep. Several plants in the blend are traditionally associated with moments of relaxation. Passionflower, for example, is recognised by the EMA for its traditional use in relieving mild stress.

Verbena is listed among the medicinal plants monitored by the ANSES, and is traditionally appreciated after meals for digestive comfort. Julien Huot, founder of Thés & Traditions, selects each plant in this recipe for its flavour balance and organic quality.

Green Rooibos, naturally rich in polyphenols, adds a vegetal dimension without any bitterness. Together, these ingredients make for a harmonious, indulgent and soothing cup. Try this infusion at the end of the day for a fruity, peaceful pause.

Storage

Packed in our workshop, this infusion is best kept in an airtight, opaque container, away from light, heat and moisture. Stored this way, it retains the freshness of its fruit and the finesse of its natural aromas for 18 to 24 months.
