The flavour profile of date and vanilla Rooibos

The moment you open the packet, natural vanilla and date aromas unfurl, carried by the woody, gently sweet notes of the Rooibos. In the cup, the experience opens in three distinct stages.

On the attack, vanilla leads, creamy and rounded, supported by the date pieces (10%) which bring a soft, candied richness. At the heart, the Rooibos reveals its velvety, lightly honeyed texture. On the finish, a caramel note lingers, long and entirely free of bitterness.

The blend is intentionally simple: organic Rooibos, organic dates (with a little rice flour to preserve the pieces), organic vanilla extract and real organic vanilla (1%). How to prepare date and vanilla Rooibos

Rooibos has a wonderful quality: it never turns bitter, no matter how long it steeps. That said, these guidelines will help you bring out its full aromatic range.

Quantity: 15 to 20 g per litre, roughly one heaped tablespoon per large cup.
Water: bring to a rolling boil, ideally using low-mineral water to let the aromas shine.
Temperature: 100°C, unlike green teas which call for a gentler heat.
Time: 7 to 10 minutes, depending on the strength you prefer.
