Slimming Green Tea: a wellness blend with fresh, green notes
Our Slimming Green Tea is a rich, signature wellness blend, crafted to complement the health rituals of a balanced lifestyle. It brings together several green teas, oolong tea, rooibos and a selection of plants (nettle, dandelion, green maté). This combination of teas, flowers and botanicals creates a bold aromatic bouquet, lifted by zesty grapefruit and warming ginger. An intense infusion, best enjoyed as part of a varied diet and regular physical activity. Please note: under European health claims regulation, no single ingredient may be described as "slimming" on its own (see EC Regulation 1924/2006).
Ingredients
- Organic green teas (Sencha and other green bases)
- Oolong tea (partially oxidised blue-green tea)
- Red Rooibos
- Green maté
- Nettle, dandelion, tulsi
- Grapefruit, ginger, rose petals, blackberry leaves
- White tea and natural flavouring
Flavour profile
In the cup, the liquor opens with a warm, bright amber hue. On the nose: a first wave of tangy grapefruit, followed by warming ginger and a dense vegetal base (nettle, maté). On the palate, the freshness of the green teas leads the way; rooibos brings a gentle roundness, oolong a subtle woody note, grapefruit a lively tartness, and ginger a pleasant peppery finish. Richly aromatic, this blend is ideal for those who love bold, layered teas.
Qualities and characteristics
Like all lightly and moderately oxidised teas (green, oolong, white), this blend is naturally rich in catechins, the antioxidant polyphenols characteristic of Camellia sinensis. The EFSA acknowledges the role of green tea polyphenols in protecting cells against oxidative stress (EFSA reference; claims on hold for Camellia sinensis). Rooibos contributes its own compounds (aspalathin, nothofagin), maté provides natural caffeine, and the botanicals (nettle, dandelion) are traditionally associated with gentle draining properties. The EFSA does not currently authorise specific weight-loss claims for any of these ingredients. Best enjoyed as part of a balanced lifestyle, alongside a varied diet and regular physical activity.
Brewing guide
How to prepare this blend
To get the most from this blend, steep it for 5 to 8 minutes in hot water. Enjoy it hot or over ice. Particularly pleasant after meals, to gently support digestion.
How much tea to use
Use 15 to 20 grams per litre of hot water, or approximately 4 g per 250 ml cup.
Temperature and steeping time
Because this blend combines green teas and botanicals, it can handle slightly hotter water than green tea alone. Heat to around 85 to 90 °C (not boiling, to preserve the green teas) and steep for 5 to 8 minutes to let the plant aromas fully unfold.
When to enjoy this blend
This blend works well across wellness rituals throughout the day. Great in the morning for an energising start, or after meals. The presence of maté and green tea makes it naturally stimulating: those sensitive to caffeine may prefer to avoid it in the evening.
Food pairings
This blend pairs beautifully with light meals (fresh salads, vegan bowls, grilled fish), energy snacks (dried fruit, cereal bars) or simply a piece of fresh fruit. Its aromatic depth means it holds its own without any sweet accompaniment.
Storage
Store this loose-leaf blend in a zip-seal bag or airtight tin, away from light, moisture and strong odours. Our 100 g packaging keeps it fresh, and it is best enjoyed within twelve months of opening.
