Loose black tea, with its whole leaves, offers an inimitable taste. To extract all the aromas, precise dosing is necessary. Too much tea results in an infusion too rich in bitterness and theine. Tea bags are well-dosed but don't offer the taste quality of loose leaves.
To prepare a perfectly flavored tea, use 2.5 grams of loose tea (half a teaspoon) for 15 cl of water. The leaves should steep for a few minutes in a teapot filter. The water temperature should be hot but not scalding. You can add milk after steeping to soften the flavor.
Black tea can be mixed with other infusions in original preparations. It pairs perfectly with rooibos in particular. To preserve the black tea aromas, it should represent 50% of the blend. Higher proportions are necessary with certain fruits like berries.
