Julien Huot, founder of Thés & Traditions

Julien Huot

Founder & tea selector

Hello, I'm Julien. I founded Thés & Traditions in 2016 out of a passion for tea. Here, I share my tastings, my travels, and the questions you ask me every day. My goal? To help you discover teas you'll genuinely want to drink, simply.

My journey

Before 2016

The encounter with tea

It all started with a cup. An encounter with an exceptional tea that made me realise an infusion could tell the story of an entire terroir, a craft, hands that had worked. Since then, I haven't stopped.

2016

Birth of Thés & Traditions

The house was founded in Dijon with a simple conviction: tea brings people together. An online shop, a catalogue built tea by tea, and the desire to build a community of curious customers.

Travels

Asia & India, meeting the growers

Several trips to Asia and India allowed me to build direct relationships with growers and trusted partners. Today, the core of the T&T catalogue is built on direct imports.

2024

Move to Simiane-Collongue

The house settled in Simiane-Collongue, near Aix-en-Provence. All our teas are hand-packaged there, with care for the product, to reach you fresh and fully traceable.

2027

Opening the workshops to the public

Good news: by 2027, our workshops will open their doors to enthusiasts. Behind-the-scenes visits, shared tastings, and the chance to put faces to the voices that reply to your messages.

My day-to-day expertise

Personal selection

Over 300 teas and infusions, chosen one by one, with a wide organic range.

My philosophy

I believe a good tea doesn't need to be complicated to be exceptional. My goal is not to drown you in jargon, but to help you discover teas you'll want to drink every day, with pleasure and curiosity. Every article I publish here is nourished by my tastings, my travels, and the questions you ask me on a daily basis. — Julien
