Raw stoneware, jade green at heart

The appeal of this Yamasaku mug lies in its contrasts. The outside is all texture: pale, sandy stoneware speckled with dark flecks, with a gentle twisted relief that wraps around the cup and down the handle. The rim is dipped in a glaze so dark it's almost black. Then you lean in, and there it is: a luminous, glassy jade green interior, its depth shifting with the light and the color of the tea.
