The intense flavour of dried ginger in your recipes

Ground or in pieces, fresh or candied, ginger is one of the defining spices of Asian, African and Caribbean cuisine. In Ayurvedic medicine, ginger is considered a true ally for wellbeing, valued for its stimulating, expectorant, antiemetic and vasodilatory properties.
Our dried organic ginger pieces can be enjoyed hot as an herbal infusion. They can also be used to prepare Gnamakoudji, a refreshing ginger and fruit drink with a squeeze of lemon juice.

The benefits of dried ginger

Ginger is widely valued for its health benefits. Known for its anti-inflammatory properties and its ability to reduce fever, this root, whether fresh or dried, is also recommended to relieve nausea and ease digestive discomfort. Our dried organic ginger pieces are equally recommended to help soothe rheumatic pain.

If you have any concerns about potential side effects, please seek medical advice, particularly in the following cases: pregnancy, anticoagulant treatment, diabetes, high blood pressure or heart conditions.

Brewing and serving tips

How do you prepare dried ginger?

A staple of Asian cooking, ginger can be enjoyed fresh as a root (rhizome), candied, pickled or in syrup. It can also be dried and used ground or in pieces.
At Thés & Traditions, our organic ginger comes in whole pieces. To bring out its full flavour when brewing, we recommend using soft, low-mineral water.

How much dried ginger should you use?

We recommend using 13 to 18 grams of dried organic ginger pieces per litre of water. For a single cup (250 ml), that works out to between 3.5 and 4.5 grams, roughly one rounded teaspoon.

What is the ideal brewing temperature for dried ginger?

For a perfect dried organic ginger infusion, bring your water to 100°C. Allow 7 to 10 minutes to draw out the full, warming spice of this tropical root.

When can you drink dried ginger?

Our dried ginger can be enjoyed at any time of day, including in the evening. Brewed as an infusion, it also works beautifully in home cooking, adding a warming spice to vegetable dishes or a refreshing lift to fruit salads.

The benefits of loose dried ginger

At Thés & Traditions, our dried organic ginger is sold loose. Packaged in a resealable bag, it guarantees a natural product of excellent quality. You will also find the price considerably more attractive than individually portioned products sold in supermarkets. To keep all its flavour intact, be sure to seal the bag carefully after each use.
